Amy-isms

Following my friend Jeremy's example (see his post about his wife here), I am going to post an Amy-ism. An Amy-ism is a botched attempt to use a common expression where instead, two phrases are inadvertantly and incorrectly combined into one...

I overhear her talking on the phone recently about the stress she was under while getting enough of her purses ready to sell at the craft fair and she said she was feeling "under the wire." I took that opportunity to explain to her that perhaps she was going for "under the gun" and/or "down to the wire." =)
